1853Charles Gabriel Pravaz (1791–1853), French orthopaedic surgeon. The seringue de Pravaz was an early controlled injection device and precursor to the hypodermic syringe.

1942Karl Albert Ludwig Aschoff (1866-1942), German physician and pathologist. Described Rokitansky–Aschoff sinuses (1842, 1905), Aschoff bodies (1904), and Aschoff-Tawara node (1906) [AV node]

2017Ruth Illig (1924-2017), German pediatric endocrinologist; described Illig syndrome
